Lunch Social for Online Teaching Exchange

You Are Invited to a Lunch Social on Wednesday, March 27 to Celebrate the New Online Teaching Exchange

Dear faculty members,

Did something happen in one of your classes recently that you’d like to get advice about from your colleagues? Would you be interested in learning new ways to structure your instruction? Do you have a great teaching tip you’d like to share?

The Center for Teaching and Learning, in conjunction with In the Circle, is pleased to announce the Online Teaching Exchange, a new members-only forum on the Pratt Commons that will enable faculty to post teaching-related concerns, questions, and tips and discuss them privately online with colleagues. Any Pratt faculty member can join; just click on this link https://commons.pratt.edu/groups/ctl/ . Please click on the Join Group button in the middle of the page near the top. Then, when you want to read or write comments and participate in the group, please click on the Forum link on the left-hand side of the group page.

The OTE will also feature occasional longer blog posts about pedagogical issues, and will operate in conjunction with In the Circle’s in-person lunch meetings, providing another way to build a sense of community and support among Pratt faculty (especially part-timers, but also full-time staff).

To celebrate the new forum, you are invited to a catered lunchtime social get-together on Wednesday, March 27 from 12:30-2 p.m. in the East Reading Room of the Pratt Library on the 2nd Floor. (Look for signs.) This informal event will provide a chance to meet and hang out with fellow faculty, and to learn how to use the new OTE. Please bring one question or tip you might like to post. And please RSVP by Thursday, March 21 for the catering, to gcohen2@pratt.edu.

Thanks, and we hope to see you soonat the lunch social, at a CTL seminar or Circle lunch, and in the Online Teaching Exchange!
