4) strategies for addressing international student mental health.

Our Division of Student Affairs staff recently experienced this presentation, which received wide praise, and here are some comments from those who attended:

“I found it very practical as it acknowledged the reality of dealing with real live students from a professional perspective.”

“Dr. Chen’s talk was incredibly engaging and I wholeheartedly recommend it to my entire professional circle. His discussion of the intersection between culture and mental health is as interesting and accessible as it is necessary right now.”

“His insight and the way he explains things were very meaningful.”

“Dr. Chen was enormously helpful in illuminating some of the unique challenges our international students may face and how we can better serve them. Applying what we have learned, this will allow us as staff to make Pratt feel like a more caring and inclusive environment where all of our students can feel safe and understood.”

“My staff and all are in agreement on how informative his presentation was regarding acculturation issues and especially in strategies on how to engage international students based on their cultural perspective.”
