2022 Fall Forum
Building Futures of Sustainable Presence
Thursday, September 22, 2022
In Person Programming

The theme this year—broadly speaking— is how to build a future that we can believe in without losing track of our present, in support of our students, educators, and communities’ efforts to learn and thrive. As a logical thread from last year’s Forum, this year’s Forum: Building Futures of Sustainable Presence will address, what could come next? Sessions and workshops will attempt to address the following questions:
- How is the responsibility of an educator related to the past, present, and future?
- How do our current environmental, political, and cultural climates change our views of teaching art, design, architecture and the liberal arts and sciences?
- How do our understandings of the present affect how we educate students, in and out of the classroom?
- How do we guide students to weigh decisions, actions, and messages of their creative work against consequences on resources across local and global contexts?
- How can technology help and/or hinder interconnectedness in this new hybrid learning landscape?
