POSTPONED: Pronouns 101 Workshop
Due to unforeseen circumstances, this event has been postponed. We will create a new post with the new meeting information once it has been rescheduled. Thank you for understanding!
The Center for Equity & Inclusion and the Center for Teaching & Learning are pleased to invite all faculty, staff, TAs, and graduate students to attend two new upcoming workshops as part of the Supporting Faculty Series. Join us as we continue to build inclusive practices and center a sense of belonging within the classroom. To register, either click each workshop title or use the buttons below.
Our understanding of gender—especially going beyond two binary options—has grown significantly over the last few years. Gender pronouns are an important part of one’s identity. Asking and correctly using someone’s pronouns is one of the most basic ways to show respect for their gender identity. When someone is referred to with the wrong pronoun, it can make them feel disrespected, invalidated, dismissed, or alienated (often all of the above). This workshop will help participants better understand gender identity, proper pronoun use, and the possible effects of misgendering.
This event is open to TAs and graduate students, as well as faculty and staff.
We look forward to seeing you then!
