There are many advantages of asking students for feedback early or midway through a course. Their responses will give a professor an opportunity to:
- learn what is working and not working in the class;
- make informed mid-course changes in your delivery, pacing, interactions, learning resources or assignments;
- have an open conversation with students about what can and cannot change about the class;
Getting students’ feedback improves transparency, builds trust and allows students to reflect on whether they are learning the things they need or want to learn.
