After Affirmative Action: Race Neutrality in Higher Education 🗓

November 2, 12:30-1:30pm (online)

In light of the upheaval caused by the recent Supreme Court rulings on affirmative action in college admissions, the CTL and Office of DEI is hosting a two-part Interactive Conversation on race and higher education. In this first part, we’ll focus on provocations surrounding race neutrality in higher education:

What ideologies are race neutrality rooted in? How did we get here? How does this exacerbate existing problems or inequities, specifically on Pratt campus? How does this empower and bolster unjust policies and procedures? How does this impact our educational mission and our pedagogical values? And, most importantly, how do we combat this ideology and defend against its harms, for our campus, our colleagues, our students, and ourselves?

This interactive conversation will be participant-led and CTL+DEI-guided. We encourage you to look over some resources on the historical/legal context, the institutional implications, and the classroom implications of race neutrality in higher education.
